We typically confirm staff in May. Historically, the staff include current (and former) teachers and Afterschool counselors, returning camp staff from prior years, and one or two new staff members from any of our Green Ivy Schools. We select camp staff with the same emphasis on nurturing and health and safety that we use when hiring classroom teachers. We also hire Spanish speaking counselors as our program is bilingual.
Yes, lunch and snacks are included for all campers.
We share camp lunch menus with families ahead of time via email.
Yes, snacks are provided and included in camp fees.
Drop-off takes place at the front door, where campers are greeted by Green Ivy staff and brought to their classrooms.
Due to space limitations, we are not allowing storage of scooters, bikes, etc. at drop off.
Depending on the week, we may visit local sports facilities and parks on days with good weather. Educational field trips to correspond with the sport of the week (basketball, soccer, etc.) are planned as well.
Yes! We share photos/videos frequently with families.
Campers should wear comfortable athletic clothing including: tee shirts, tank tops, shorts, sweatpants, etc. Campers should also wear comfortable athletic sneakers. Dress shoes, sandals and Crocs are highly discouraged. If a camper arrives with clothing that could be considered unsafe to play in, we may have to hold them out of activities until more appropriate clothing is acquired.
Shin guards for soccer and knee pads for volleyball are highly recommended. Please bring your own water bottles!
As this is a sports camp, we ask that you don’t bring any devices outside of a cell phone that is kept in the camper’s bag and only checked during scheduled times. Contacting our directors and counselors will give you immediate access to communicate with your children, should there be an emergency.
